Funny / Not Funny is excited to welcome Prison Book Club to the family with the announcement of F/NF 019 a split cassette tape between Prison Book Club and Uncle Bengine and the Restraining Orders.  Prison Book Club comes from the small town of Shepherdstown WV, you might recognize that name from another recent release we put out.  That is right, Prison Book Club shares members with The Demon Beat, as well as The Fox Hunt, but don’t let that shape your opinion of this group, because they have crafted their own brand of honest rock and roll with a country twist that holds up without leaning on their pedigree.  Prison Book Club is Adam Meisterhans, Andrew Ford, John R. F/NF 019: Prison Book Club / Uncle Bengine Split Cassette

This release has been in the works since late fall of last year, both bands have been hard at work writing and recording and we are thrilled to finally announce the release of F/NF 019. The pairing of Prison Book Club with Uncle Bengine and the Restraining Orders is the prefect soundtrack to a last call bar room conversation.  Each side of the cassette contains over 20 minutes of well crafted, honest music that celebrates day to day life; be it a trip down to the river to catch a drink or traveling the long way home to see family and friends.

Naked Gods: Welcome to our family!

Funny / Not Funny Records is proud to welcome Naked Gods into our family with the announcement that we will be releasing their new full length LP entitled “No Jams” (F/NF 015). The story of F/NF and Naked Gods is one of love at first sight.  From the first time we saw them live, to their split with mutual friends Invisible Hand, to performing on our SXSW showcase, to all the hangouts we have ever shared, this band was destined to be a part of F/NF.  This grand group of gentlemen consists of Seth Sullivan, Derek Wycoff, Brian Knox, Chris Hutelmyer, and Christian Smith.  More details on their release, and other releases that are on the way, soon! The Tumblr love overflowth

Back in October we reported reaching over 2000 fans on tumblr. We here in the F/NF camp have been so busy putting together a string of new releases you for that we never noticed passing the 3000 mark. In fact, we are proud to announce that we have cruised past 4000 followers! We are humbled by all the interest from our readers and encourage you to spread the word. Speaking of spreading the word, we were recently highlighted in the New York division of the blog Guest of a Guest and listed as one of the “Top 10 Record Labels to follow on Tumblr”!!
