Tons of new releases on the way: Part 3 + Shows!

The Diamond Center

The Diamond Center: Welcome to our family!

Funny / Not Funny Records is proud to welcome The Diamond Center into our family with the announcement that we will be releasing their next 7” (F/NF 017). The very first interaction between F/NF and The Diamond Center proved to be a heartfelt beginning as the fact we were going to become great friends was undeniable.  Ever since this band relocated to Richmond, VA, they have been accumulating fans and friends at an astonishing rate.  After befriending our close friends over at the Magic Twig Community, The Diamond Center cruised on down the Mystic Fortress to record the two songs you will find on this upcoming 7”. This magical collective of kind folks currently consists of Lindsay Phillips, Tim Falen, Brandi Price, Kyle Harris, and sometimes with the help of Will Godwin.  More details on their release, and other releases that are on the way, soon! In the meantime get to know The Diamond Center as well by watching the video or visiting one the sites below:

Monthly Mixtape: Bladen Day

Mr. Bladen Day

Funny / Not Funny Records is proud to announce the fourth installment of the reformatted Label Mixtape Series. If you missed the previous months head over to our 8tracks site where they are archived and will be available long after the download links expire. Like in the name, 8tracks only allows you to upload 8 tracks at a time and this month the mix comes from Super Vacation member, John Fogerty Impersonator, Preacher of the good word, Mr. Bladen Day. His involvement in the label comes with our latest release, a split record between his band The Super Vacations and Eternal Summers, entitled “The Mystic Fortress Sessions Vol. 1”.  Head over to our store and pick up a copy, you will not be disappointed.

Track Information:

1. The Hunches - Swim Hole
A lighter track from these weirdos. Even freaks need the healing waters on a hot summer day.

2. Fleetwood Mac - The Ledge
I wanted to do an all Fleetwood Mac mixtape, but this site wouldn’t let me. Here’s one of Buckingham’s coked-out basement bangers from Tusk.

3. Crushed Butler - Love Is All Around Me

Pretty flowery lyrics for such a heavy track. I’m okay with it. It’s summertime.

4. Eat Forever - Real Cops

36 seconds!!!

5. Spratleys Japs - Vine

I put this on because I think it sounds like a more theatrical Invisible Hand from the UK.

6. John Williams - Jurassic Park Theme

Chris Foster-Baril put some classical shit on his mix so I had to one up him.

7. Silver Pines - Travelin’ Bones

I wish these guys were playing at the healing waters all the time.

8. Flying Burrito Brothers - Older Guys

Just a real fun tune, ya know?
