The Mid-Atlantic College Radio Conference is rapidly approaching! This year, the conference will be held on Friday, April 2nd and Saturday, April 3rd in Downtown Harrisonburg, VA. We’re very pleased to announce that several Funny / Not Funny bands will be playing the conference! Invisible Hand (7:40-8:10), Whatever Brains (9:20-9:50), and Drunk Tigers (4:50-5:10) will be playing at Clementine Cafe Friday Evening. Ben Schlabach’s full band Mild Winter (8:50-9:20) will be opening for the highly entertaining Curtis Eller at The Little Grill on Friday also. John Hostetter’s full band Elephant Child (4:50-5:10) will be opening the Clementine show Saturday for Andrew Cedermark (8:30-9:00) who plays later that evening, and The Alphabet will be playing a MACRoCk after-party at The Bat Cave with Algernon Cadwallader and Monument very, very late Saturday evening.
Ben and John will also be performing solo sets at a house show with Curtis Eller and two others TBA (you won’t want to miss this, stay tuned) Saturday from 11AM - 3PM. More Information on that will be posted in the coming weeks.
Matt Leech and Ben Schlabach will also be a part of Panels this year. Days, times, and official panel information will be announced next week.
One of the best parts of MACRoCk every year is The Label Expo, which will be held at The Blue Nile from 11AM - 3PM on Saturday April 3rd. Funny / Not Funny’s been working extra hard to get a few of our releases out in time for the conference, so we can spread the word about some records we’re really excited about. However, we need your help! Unfortunately we’re all under other obligation during the time of the label expo, either playing, speaking, or working on something else Macrock related. We’re looking for 1 or 2 individuals who would be interested in running our expo table from 11:00 - 3:00. We’ll be happy to set up the table, go over pricing, and will be stopping in periodically. All you gotta do is get a bloody mary from the blue nile bar, plop down in a chair, and sell records. In exchange for your kind service, we’d be happy to offer a free badge to the conference, or any 3 7”s in our distro. Please email matt.s.leech@gmail.com if you’re interested.
